CS2 has been discovered in the NVIDIA driver file, indicating the possibility of a new Counter-Strike version

According to reports, Valve may release a new version of Counter-Strike soon, maybe under the moniker Counter-Strike 2 or CS:GO 2. ๐Ÿ”ซ

This information is derived from NVIDIA’s game driver files, which include files labeled cs2.exe and csgo2.exe, both of which clearly reference Counter-Strike 2. However, another news source claims that it is an improved version of CS:GO that will employ the Source 2 engine, which is also used in Dota 2. (The current CS:GO version, introduced in 2012, continues to employ the original Source engine from the Half-Life era.)

The Source 2 engine was first launched in 2015 for Dota 2, the first game to utilise it. Half-Life: Alyx, Valve’s most recent game, also makes use of the Source 2 technology.

Valve has yet to provide any official statements on the subject.

It’s been a while since we’ve had a new version of Counter-Strike, isn’t it? Can we expect one soon? โŒ›

To be honest, I don’t understand the purpose. It seems like the game still has cheaters and hasn’t made any improvements. I thought that CS:GO was already running on Source 2, to be honest.
