OpenAI Initiates New Funding Round, Surpasses Billion-Dollar Valuation: Unconfirmed

Bloomberg news reported that OpenAI has begun discussions to raise a new funding round worth at least $100 billion. However, it should be noted that this is only the early stage of the negotiations, and the details, such as the exact valuation and timeline, are yet to be concluded and subject to change. Nevertheless, if OpenAI does reach a valuation in the trillions, it will become America’s second most valuable startup, second only to SpaceX.

Furthermore, OpenAI is also engaged in exclusive business negotiations with G42, a fund based in the United Arab Emirates, with a focus on developing Tigris, a chip code-named project. The investment range for this collaboration is estimated to be between $8 to $10 billion.

In addition, OpenAI has plans to offer employees the opportunity to sell their shares to interested funds. This move is part of a business valuation estimated at around $86 billion, and the main fund executing the buy orders is Thrive Capital, due to a high level of investor interest.

Both Microsoft, a major investor, and OpenAI have declined to comment on these reports.
