Fujitsu Declares Abstinence from Government Tendering in the United Kingdom Until the Investigation into the Post Office Case is Concluded

Fujitsu has sent a letter to the UK government, indicating their decision to opt out of future public sector bids. This comes as the government is currently under investigation and preparing to compensate representatives of the Post Office who have been involved in legal proceedings due to the Horizon POS system.

A government spokesperson expressed their appreciation for Fujitsu’s recent stance. Nonetheless, it’s worth noting that Fujitsu recently won a bid worth £485 million at the end of 2023 for the education system in Northern Ireland. This project encompasses the management of schools, nursery services, and various other educational establishments. Interestingly, Fujitsu won this bid as the sole bidder.

TLDR: Fujitsu has informed the UK government that they will not participate in future public sector bids, amidst ongoing investigations and compensation proceedings related to the Horizon POS system. However, it is noteworthy that Fujitsu recently secured a £485 million bid for the education system in Northern Ireland.
