Palworld Game Creator Exposes Numerous Serious Death Threats Received by Company – Affirms Non-Infringement of Copyrights

Palworld is a highly popular action-survival game (with over 5 million copies sold to date), but it comes with the issue of its monsters, or “Pals,” looking similar to Pokémon, leading some to call it “Pokémon with guns.”

The community managers at Pocketpair, the development company behind Palworld, have addressed and confirmed that the game takes more inspiration from Ark Survival Evolved and Valheim than Pokémon. In addition, they revealed that the company has received numerous threatening messages, both through DMs and emails, with some individuals even threatening their lives.

CEO Takuro Mizobe assures that all legal aspects have been thoroughly examined and no issues have been found. He personally oversees and takes responsibility for the character design and production processes, affirming that there is no intent to infringe on any copyrights, regardless of the company involved.
