Rumor has it: iPhone 16 remains loyal to its timeless design, while AI-related functionalities might not grace this year’s edition.

Renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who regularly provides insider information on Apple’s upcoming products, recently shared some intriguing details about the iPhone set to be released in 2024, which will be known as the iPhone 16. The key highlight here is that the design will remain largely unchanged from the iPhone 15.

Previously, there were rumors circulating that the iPhone 16 would boast Generative AI as its selling point. However, Kuo suggests that this feature may not be as prominent or may not even be present at all. Instead, Apple is expected to introduce clear AI capabilities in the iPhone 17, set to debut in 2025. Kuo believes this move will position Apple as a strong competitor in the market, challenging both Samsung and Huawei (in the Chinese market), who have been gaining traction with their AI-driven foldable smartphones.

Earlier speculations surrounding the iPhone 16 mentioned a larger display for the Pro version and the addition of specific buttons dedicated to video recording. These rumors have yet to be confirmed.

TLDR: Ming-Chi Kuo, a reputable analyst, has revealed that the iPhone 16, slated for release in 2024, will retain the design of its predecessor and may not heavily incorporate Generative AI. Apple is expected to introduce clearer AI capabilities in the iPhone 17, aiming to compete with leading AI-driven foldable smartphones in the market.
