United States Unveils Energy Blueprint for 2024: Harnessing Wind, Solar, and Batteries for Sustainable Future

The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) has announced plans to establish new energy sources in 2024. It was found that solar energy accounts for a staggering 58%, with wind energy at 13%. Of particular interest is battery energy storage, making up 23% of the total energy sources, amounting to 62.8GW.

Battery energy storage is concentrated in Texas (6.4GW) and California (5.2GW) out of a total of 14.3GW, showing a rapid increase compared to the existing 15.5GW nationwide.

Wind energy has been slowly increasing over the past two years, with two large wind farms set to launch this year.

Despite the shift towards renewable energy sources in the U.S., non-renewable energy sources like oil and natural gas still remain dominant.

TLDR: The EIA plans to introduce new energy sources in 2024, with solar energy leading the way at 58% and battery storage at 23%. Although renewable energy is on the rise, oil and natural gas continue to play a significant role in the energy landscape.
