Samsung officially unveiled the smart ring Galaxy Ring at MWC 2024 after teasing a glimpse of the image sensor at Galaxy Unpacked last month. The initial presentation showcased the Galaxy Ring in prototype form, with the possibility of details being altered in the future.
The Samsung Galaxy Ring comes in three colors – platinum silver, ceramic black, and gold. Designed in a ring-like form with sizes ranging from 5-13, its key highlights include being a lightweight wearable device that can store health data. It can track various health metrics such as sleep patterns, heart rate, movement, and irregular breathing, which will be collected through Samsung’s Health app and calculated into different health scores.
Dr. Hon Pak, Vice President of Digital Health at Samsung, highlighted the current challenges in the health industry, emphasizing the importance of diverse tools and centralized data collection. Samsung aims to be a major platform supporting connectivity among various devices through Samsung Health, including wearables like the Galaxy Ring. This device is poised to revolutionize the game by continuously storing user data for 7 days, 24 hours a day, in a compact size that ensures user comfort.
While specific specs, battery life, and other details of the Galaxy Ring are yet to be disclosed, Samsung has confirmed that the product will hit the market within this year.
