“Transformation is an ongoing process.” This is the initial statement made by Khun Krating Rujiratch, the Group Chairman of KASIKORN Business-Technology Group (KBTG), during the recent KBTG Vision announcement under the theme “The Never-ending Adventure.” It reflects the necessity for organizations to continually evolve.
Khun Krating explained that KBTG’s transformation journey began when he assumed his role in 2019, known as OneKBTG Transformation, with the goal of becoming a leading tech company in Southeast Asia by 2025. However, the actual achievement is targeted for 2023, challenging the norm by advancing two years ahead of schedule.
KBTG’s success is evident through the six key pillars:
1. Brilliance in IT Systems and Operations: KBank’s IT system has remained highly stable, with service availability reaching 99.99% over four consecutive years. This system supports transactions totaling up to 23.9 trillion baht, accounting for 35% of domestic financial transactions.
2. Modernizing Architecture and Infrastructure: Enhancements in infrastructure stability have reduced downtime by 66%, decreased incident rates by 60%, and improved efficiency in data centers and disaster recovery sites. Energy efficiency has also been enhanced, with a reduction in PUE from 2.0 to 1.5.
3. Efficient Work Methods with Agile and Automation: End-to-end work optimization has increased project delivery by 2.25 times, from 83 projects in 2019 to 190 projects in 2023, with improved quality and decreased incidents.
4. Expanding to Regional Levels: Over the past four years, KBTG has expanded its offices and operational bases to four countries and five major cities, garnering recognition as the Best IT Company 2024 by ITviec in Vietnam.
5. Pioneering New Innovations: User-friendly innovations like Khun Thong and MAKE by KBank, as well as financial apps like Meow Jot, have gained significant user traction. Additionally, new business ventures like Kubix and Coral, along with the utilization of ML, AI, and Data (M.A.D.), showcase KBTG’s commitment to innovation through global collaborations.
6. Developing Employee Capabilities and Well-being: Employee retention rates have improved, with a reduction in turnover to just 7.5% in 2023, despite an increase in staff numbers from 1,100 in 2019 to around 2,500 at present.
In conclusion, despite KBTG’s remarkable progress in transformation and organizational development, Khun Krating emphasizes that the journey of transformation is infinite.
In the upcoming three years, KBTG aims to enhance its organizational potential with AI, following the Human-first x AI-first Transformation approach. This entails leveraging AI to optimize internal processes and drive efficiency, all while nurturing creativity and service innovation.
TLDR: KBTG’s ongoing transformation journey underscores its commitment to innovation, efficiency, regional expansion, and employee development, with a focus on leveraging AI to drive progress.
