The social media platform, X, formerly known as Twitter, has introduced a new feature for Spaces. Hosts can now open live video during conversations with the option to enable video when starting a new Spaces session. They can choose between using the front or rear camera to livestream.
Currently, only Spaces hosts are able to open video. The video displays icons of the host, speakers, and listeners. This feature is limited to iOS for now, with no confirmation from X regarding its availability on Android. The introduction of this feature brings X closer to the group video call feature that Elon Musk, the owner of X, announced plans for last year (currently limited to video calls among users).
