Kia has announced the launch of the Kia EV9, a 6-seater SUV that is the first electric vehicle from Kia fully launched in Thailand. The unveiling took place at the Sirikit National Convention Center on March 1 and 2, 2024, under the theme “Space to Inspire Your Future.” The Kia EV9 is available in two models in Thailand: the Kia EV9 Earth Long Range and the Kia EV9 GT-Line AWD, both with a 7-year warranty.
The exterior of the Kia EV9 features a wheelbase of 3,100mm, accommodating 21-inch or 20-inch wheels. The GT-Line AWD model has a total length of 5,015mm, width of 1,980mm, and height of 1,780mm. The front design of the Kia EV9 showcases a ‘Digital Tiger Face’ with a ‘Digital Pattern Lighting Grille’ and vertically aligned small square-shaped headlights.
Inside, the Kia EV9 comes with a Panoramic Wide Display, a 12.3-inch cluster display, a 12.3-inch touch infotainment screen, and a 5.3-inch passenger room air conditioning display. The EV mode allows drivers to monitor and control specific EV data all in one mode.
The Kia EV9 is equipped with the Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) standard electric powertrain system. The Kia EV9 Earth Long Range model features a single electric motor generating 149.5kW/350Nm, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.4 seconds with a range of up to 680km on a single charge at a price starting from THB 3,499,000.
The Kia EV9 GT-Line AWD model comes with dual electric motors totaling 282.6kW and 700Nm of torque, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.3 seconds with a range of up to 647km on a single charge under NEDC standards. The Ultra-fast Charge can provide a 350kW charge in 24 minutes for a range of 450km. It includes electrically adjustable lounge-style seats with footrests and heating systems, priced at THB 3,899,000.
Furthermore, the Kia EV9 offers driver assistance features such as Blind-Spot Collision Avoidance Assist (BCA), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Smart Cruise Control (SCC) with Stop & Go, Forward Collision Avoidance Assist (FCA) with Junction Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Avoidance (RCCA), and Parking Collision Avoidance Assist (PCA).
Kia aims to deliver the vehicles starting from June 2024. Interested individuals can inquire about details and register for test drives at the Kia booth at the 45th Bangkok International Motor Show from March 27 to April 7, 2024.
