Director Hideaki Itsuno of the game Dragon’s Dogma 2 recently posted on X that the game will be released with an uncapped framerate. Itsuno, in the midst of this post, was just about to be interviewed by Game Informer.
During the interview, Game Informer asked Itsuno about the significance of this decision for console players. The response was that Dragon’s Dogma 2 will not have graphical options in the console version, which typically offers a choice between graphics-focused or performance-focused modes. However, the game will not limit the framerate in any way.
Itsuno mentioned that the team aims for the game to run at around 30fps or higher. In the console version, there will be some options that players can toggle on and off, but there won’t be performance or graphics modes to choose from.
The game is set to be released soon, with several media outlets previewing it. IGN stated that the game was immensely enjoyable to play, averaging at 31fps with output set at 4K. However, they did not test lower output settings or enabling VRR to see if it would improve gameplay smoothness.
