Elon Musk Announces Launch of Open-Source Chatbot Grok Within the Week

Short news from Elon Musk, CEO of xAI, a leading AI startup with a chatbot named Grok for Q&A services. Musk announced on X that xAI will open-source Grok within this week. Grok was introduced in November last year, highlighting its ability to learn real-time data from X and being available to X Premium subscribers.

The announcement of Grok going open-source is significant as Musk recently filed a lawsuit against OpenAI and CEO Sam Altman, alleging the misuse of the non-profit for profit-seeking purposes and a lack of transparency in OpenAI’s future direction (which OpenAI has addressed).

TLDR: Elon Musk’s xAI will open-source Grok chatbot for Q&A within the week, following a lawsuit against OpenAI for alleged profit-seeking and lack of transparency.
