Andy Rottiers, the Mobile B2B Business Manager for Samsung Netherlands, shared on LinkedIn that Samsung has extended the maximum update policy for corporate customers’ Android operating systems to up to 8 years. This surpasses competitors like Google’s Pixel, which only offers updates for 7 years.
The hardware from Samsung set to receive security patch updates for 8 years includes the Galaxy Tab Active 5 EE, while the corporate mobile group, consisting of the Galaxy S24 EE and Galaxy Xcover 7 EE, will receive updates for 7 years. (Product launches for this group in Thailand may have a different policy of up to 5 years as policies may vary by country.)
