Zoom has introduced a new service called Zoom Workplace, which is described as a platform for collaborative work empowered by AI. It combines AI assistant tools and various features to make workflows more efficient.
Operating on the AI Companion tool, Zoom Workplace utilizes existing AI assistant tools found in many Zoom products. These tools summarize meeting content, summarize group chats, help brainstorm ideas, and assist in drafting emails or chat messages. A new feature called Ask AI Companion allows the assistant to pull data from various sources to aid in tasks such as creating meeting documents, assisting in scheduling, and supporting cross-platform work outside of Zoom like Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace.
The capabilities of AI Companion have also been integrated into Zoom Phone, allowing for the generation of meeting summaries post voice conversations or summarizing key content from voicemails.
Zoom Workplace platform and AI tools are available at no additional cost to paying customers. However, AI Companion may only be available in certain regions and may not be supported in some industries. The rollout of this service is set to begin in April.
TLDR: Zoom introduces Zoom Workplace, a collaborative platform powered by AI tools such as the AI Companion to enhance work efficiency and support various work tasks.
