Game Help is a feature launched alongside the PlayStation 5 console as a benefit for PlayStation Plus members. It allows players to access video guides, tips, and gameplay strategies created by developers without leaving the game they are playing. These can be viewed through the PlayStation App.
Recently, PlayStation announced the expansion of the Game Help feature on the PlayStation 5 by adding player-created videos to the feature library. This new addition, named Community Game Help, is available to all PS5 players without the need for a PlayStation Plus subscription in supported games. Players can also upload their own gameplay clips to share with the PlayStation community.
To participate, players can go to Captures & Broadcasts > Captures > Auto Captures > Community Game Help and select Participate to join. They can also set limits on monthly video recordings to control the number of videos saved from their gameplay each month.
Once the settings are configured, the PS5 will automatically record videos when players perform certain in-game activities. These videos are then sent to PlayStation for moderation. Approved videos will trigger a notification on the screen. Other players watching these Game Help clips can rate them, and once uploaded to the PlayStation servers, the videos will be removed from the PS5 console.
Players do not need to edit or upload the clips themselves before sending them to the servers. The recorded videos may only include raw footage without webcam camera audio, microphone, or Party Chat Audio but may display the Online ID (player name seen in-game when playing online modes) or Chat messages. Additionally, players can view their published videos in the Settings Menu and delete them at any time.
Community Game Help will be available for select games within the year with plans to support as many games as possible in the future.
