Google has announced a new feature called Circle to Search, allowing users to search for various things from images on the screen and supporting translation. Typically, we may use Google Lens or the camera feature in Google Translate to translate things in our real-life surroundings. However, translating web pages or images displayed on the screen can be challenging (requiring to take a screenshot and then use Google Translate again).
The Circle to Search feature is designed to tackle this issue. For example, when browsing a restaurant website with a menu in a foreign language, all you need to do is press and hold the Home button to summon Google to Search. A new translation button will appear at the bottom, allowing you to instantly translate what’s on the screen.
Google has also announced the expansion of the Circle to Search feature from being available only on Galaxy S24 and Pixel 7+ to include Pixel 6, Pixel 7a, Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Z Fold/Flip 5, and Galaxy Tab S9.
TLDR: Google introduces Circle to Search feature for easier on-screen image search and translation, expanding its availability to more devices.
