OpenAI is planning to open a branch office in Tokyo, Japan, which will be its first office in Asia. However, this report is not officially confirmed yet.
Currently, OpenAI has two branch offices outside the United States, in London, United Kingdom, and Dublin, Ireland, with its headquarters located in San Francisco.
Sam Altman, the CEO and co-founder of OpenAI, met with Fumio Kishida, the Prime Minister of Japan, last April. He expressed interest in establishing a branch office in Japan to expand services specifically tailored to the Japanese language, catering to existing large corporate clients and aligning services with government regulations.
