Meta has announced a shift in its handling of content generated by AI as per the recommendations of the Oversight Board, now requiring a label “Made with AI” for all AI-generated content including videos, audio, and images on Facebook, Instagram, and Threads.
According to Meta, the Oversight Board deemed the current platform rules too restrictive, focusing only on AI-generated videos and deepfake videos impersonating others. The current trends in AI-generated video content have shown diversity and significant development.
The labeling requirement of “Made with AI” will come into effect in May, encompassing content identified by the system as AI-generated, content self-identified by uploaders as AI-generated, and content created using Meta AI. Misleading impersonation clips will be promptly removed if found to violate platform rules.

TLDR: Meta changes content management approach for AI-generated content, requiring “Made with AI” label and implementing measures to tackle deepfake videos.
