Permission Granted: App Store Allows E-Multiplier Games to Enter Store, Global Impact Ensues

Apple has once again updated the App Store guidelines for developers, with a key highlight being the allowance of Epic Games’ apps on the store. Additionally, they are now in compliance with additional EU regulations.

Regarding Epic Games apps, Apple has granted developers the ability to create and publish these apps, a move that was previously prohibited (despite some leaks). This change impacts the global App Store. Furthermore, downloads for additional games are limited to Mini Games within an app or streaming apps. However, developers must still take responsibility for all software within Epic Games and adhere to both the App Store guidelines and individual country laws.

Furthermore, Apple has added specific details for music streaming apps, specifically for EU countries. Users are now able to insert links, such as payment links leading to external websites, or provide email input to receive payment links from the platform’s website. This change comes as a result of the European Commission fining Apple 1.8 billion euros in response to Spotify’s complaint.

TLDR: Apple updated App Store guidelines to allow Epic Games apps, comply with EU regulations, and added details for music streaming apps in EU countries.
