Threads Surpasses 150 Million MAUs in User Count

During the latest quarterly earnings call, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg unveiled some intriguing details about the Threads social platform. The platform, known for its focus on text-based content, is currently boasting over 150 million Monthly Active Users (MAUs), putting it in direct competition with X (formerly known as Twitter).

This recent revelation marks a significant increase from the 130 million accounts reported back in February, highlighting the steady growth trajectory of Threads. In the past quarter, Threads introduced several new features such as trending topic threads, integration with other platforms in the Fediverse, time-ordered search, and plans to open up API access by June.

Comparing these user numbers to X/Twitter’s latest figures of 250 million Daily Active Users (DAUs) and over 550 million MAUs, it’s clear that Threads still has a long way to go to catch up. The road ahead for Threads seems promising but challenging.
