Restrictions on Exporting Components to China by ASML Impacting Customer Maintenance Services in Certain Regions of China

Peter Wennink, CEO of ASML, revealed that the US government has been pressuring the chip manufacturing industry in China by banning the export of parts to China, resulting in ASML being unable to fully repair and maintain equipment.

Wennink mentioned that they can still service most of the equipment sold to Chinese customers, but it affects some customers who require parts from the US.
The US has been pressuring Chinese chip manufacturers for several years, starting with the ban on exporting EUV technology and followed by the ban on exporting DUV technology in early 2023.
