Tesla’s FSD System Approved for Testing in China by Authorities

Reports indicate that Chinese authorities have preliminarily approved Tesla to use its Full Self-Driving (FSD) technology in the country after Elon Musk’s recent visit to China. Musk had discussions with government representatives, including Li Qiang, the Premier of China.

In China, Tesla’s mapping and navigation system will utilize Baidu’s technology, which addresses data storage concerns, a key point of consideration for Chinese regulatory agencies.

Musk posted on X about his trip, mentioning his longstanding acquaintance with Li Qiang from their days in communist party politics in Shanghai, where Tesla was building a factory at the time.

Tesla’s sales in China decreased by 4% in the past quarter, while the overall electric vehicle market in China grew by 15%. Musk has expressed that Tesla’s FSD could be a game-changer.
