Unveiling Deadlock: Valve’s Long-Awaited Team-Based Shooter Game, Years in the Making, Revealed in Stunning Images

The Twitter account @gabefollower, known for compiling news from Valve, recently leaked images of a new game from the company called Deadlock. It is a team-based shooter game with a 6v6 format and a third-person perspective set in a large map with 4 lanes.

Resembling Overwatch in some aspects, Deadlock features a vibrant cartoon art style with a fantasy sci-fi world theme blending steampunk machinery, magic, mythical creatures, and robots. It is a fusion of various game elements drawn from different titles under the umbrella of Valve, but primarily inspired by the fantasy style of Dota, although it initially leaned towards a sci-fi robotic theme akin to Half-Life/Portal before transitioning to a fantasy theme later on.

@gabefollower mentioned that Deadlock is essentially the evolution of Valve’s Neon Prime game project, which previously carried a trademark but disappeared silently. If Deadlock turns out to be real (and most importantly not canceled beforehand), it could potentially become Valve’s new game for the coming years, following the release of Half-Life: Alyx in 2020.

TLDR: @gabefollower shared leaked images of Valve’s new game Deadlock, a team-based shooter with a fantasy sci-fi theme, possibly becoming Valve’s next flagship game if it materializes.
