Enhanced Android Hotspot Sharing Feature for Notebooks and Tablets Without Passwords, Streamlining Google Meet Calls

Google has introduced a new feature for Android in the May 2024 update that is worth noting. One of them is the instant hotspot, which allows Android tablets or Chromebook laptops to connect to a smartphone’s Wi-Fi hotspot with just a single press without having to enter a new Wi-Fi password and waste time.

But that’s not all. Another new feature is Call casting. If we are in an online meeting via Google Meet and need to switch to another device (such as talking on a tablet at home and then having to leave home to talk on a mobile phone instead), we can simply press the Cast button and transfer the call to another device to continue talking immediately, without having to exit the meeting room and re-enter with another device in the future.

This feature can be found on the Settings page under Google > Devices & Sharing > Cross-device services. However, this feature is not yet available for Samsung brand smartphones, and Google has not clearly explained the reason for this limitation.

TLDR: Google introduced new features for Android in the May 2024 update, including instant hotspot and Call casting, allowing easier connectivity and call transfer between devices during online meetings.
