The Metamorphosis of BioWare’s Dragon Age: Dreadwolf to the Enigmatic Dragon Age: The Veilguard.

BioWare has announced a name change for the game Dragon Age 4, previously known as Dreadwolf, to the new title Dragon Age: The Veilguard. The reason for the name change is to reflect the direction of this installment. Originally, the name Dreadwolf specifically referred to the main antagonist “Dread Wolf,” but with the addition of 7 party members each with unique personalities and compelling stories, the development team decided to rename it to The Veilguard to emphasize the main plot of the game which involves gathering a group of 8 characters to save the continent of Thedas.

As for why the game is named Veilguard and what the storyline will entail, BioWare will showcase a 15-minute long trailer revealing gameplay on June 11th.

TLDR: BioWare renamed Dragon Age 4 to Dragon Age: The Veilguard to reflect the game’s main plot of gathering 8 characters to save Thedas. A 15-minute trailer showcasing gameplay will be revealed on June 11th.
