Japanese Announces Triumph, Revokes Mandate for State Agencies to Submit Data via Floppy Disk.

Taro Kono, the Minister of Digital Affairs in Japan, has revealed that he has finally been able to amend the regulations of various government agencies to eliminate the use of floppy disks successfully. The related regulations were scrapped on June 28th.

Prior to this, Taro Kono studied the relevant laws regarding data transmission to government agencies and discovered over 1,000 regulations specifying the use of floppy disks or CD-ROMs for data transmission. The government has been working on amending these laws since the beginning of the year.

All regulations specifying the use of floppy disks have been fully abolished, totaling 1,034 regulations, except for one related to environmental and recycling vehicles.
