Microsoft instructs employees in China to switch to iPhone for security reasons

Bloomberg reports that Microsoft has instructed employees in China to switch to using iPhones for work since September. The company will provide iPhone 15 to employees using Chinese smartphone brands. The main reason seems to be security, as the memo mentions that the App Store is available in China (allowing for important app downloads such as Authenticator and Identity Pass), unlike the Play Store and Google Mobile Service which are not available in China. Microsoft has also banned the use of Chinese smartphone brands like Huawei and Xiaomi for organizational use.

TLDR: Microsoft is switching its employees in China to iPhones for work, citing security reasons and the availability of the App Store in the region.
