EA has unveiled the game EA Sports FC 25, the second installment to switch from the FIFA name to FC. The game is set to be released on September 27, 2024, on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch.
In this installment, Jude Bellingham, the English player from Real Madrid, graces the cover. A significant feature of this edition is the 5v5 Rush mode, where teams of 5 players compete (with control over a maximum of 4 players due to goalkeeping restrictions). The 5v5 Rush gameplay can be enjoyed in modes such as FUT, Clubs, and Kick-Off. This change sees the removal of the Volta Football mode, a street football style, in favor of the Rush format, which is based on traditional 11v11 gameplay with certain rule adjustments such as no red cards, only blue cards, and one-minute time outs off the field.
Another new feature is the FC IQ system, which allows for the customization of player roles in each position. Players can choose from 3-5 styles for each position, with a total of 31 roles available at launch, expanding to 50 roles later on.
The Hypermotion system simulates real player movements on the field, incorporating data from 1,800 players, now including lower body movement styles. Last year’s simulation focused on upper body movements.
On the graphics front, there are two display options: Enhanced Visuals, which emphasizes various effects but falls short of 4K rendering, and Favour Resolution, which provides minimal effects for a 4K native render. Both modes run at a smooth frame rate of 60 fps.
