Automattic, the parent company of WordPress.com, has unveiled the Write Brief with AI tool, designed to enhance the conciseness of our blog writing with the help of artificial intelligence. The process involves using AI to analyze our content and assign a “readability score,” while also providing suggestions for improvements such as reducing overly complex words, trimming excessively long sentences, or eliminating vague terms that reflect writer uncertainty (e.g. may/could/might/possibly). We can select highlighted sentences to receive AI recommendations on how to address these issues.
This tool is part of the Jetpack suite of WordPress add-ons and is now integrated into the WordPress.com service editor. Self-hosted WordPress sites can also try it out for free through the limited Jetpack plugin version, with 20 credits. Additional credits can be obtained by purchasing a premium package.
