Samsung Medison, the medical device development department of Samsung Electronics, has announced the completion of its acquisition of Sonio, a French-based medical technology startup. The acquisition plan was revealed by both companies back in May of this year.
Sonio specializes in developing medical technology (Medtech) focusing on ultrasound for obstetrics and gynecology, incorporating AI to aid in generating summary reports. Their standout solution, Sonio Detect, assists in detecting abnormalities from ultrasound results, which has received approval from the FDA for the year 2023.
Samsung Medison stated that this acquisition will further enhance the various medical technology services offered by the company.
