United States FDA Approves Future Sleep Apnea Detection in Apple Watch

The FDA, or the Food and Drug Administration of the United States, has issued a license for the Sleep Apnea Detection feature in the Apple Watch Series 9, Apple Watch Series 10, and Apple Watch Ultra 2.

This feature was recently unveiled by Apple at the iPhone 16 press conference and is part of the watchOS 11 operating system update released today. It is compatible with both the upcoming Apple Watch Series 10, set to be launched this week in the United States, as well as the two previous models.

According to the FDA, this feature is designed to alert users only when abnormal data is detected. Upon receiving an alert, users are advised to consult a physician for further diagnosis.
