Whoscall collaborates with a total of 11 public and private sectors to introduce the new Scam Alert feature on Whoscall, which is a comprehensive database center that warns of non-professional threats from government agencies, as well as fraud alert information. This feature can be utilized by both free and premium customers, divided into 2 main features.
The latest Scam Trending Alert – Whoscall users can enable automatic notification on the application to receive important and urgent non-professional threat alerts, such as impersonating important agencies, elaborate scams causing significant damage, wide-ranging harm, and personal data theft from government organizations.
Stay-ahead Scam Education Content – This feature will be a platform that gathers knowledge about scamming methods and various prevention tips from private sector network communities and the public sector, such as investment scams, bill payment scams, shopping scams, e-commerce scams, as well as in-depth reports and information from Whoscall and the Global Anti-Scam Alliance (GASA).
The Global Anti-Scam Alliance (GASA) released its annual report for the year 2024, revealing that only 55% of Thais are confident in staying abreast of non-professional threats, and 89% admit to facing non-professional threats at least once a month. In addition, in the first six months of this year, Whoscall was able to detect almost 19 million calls from non-professionals, while the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society (MDES) shut down more than 47,000 deceptive websites between October 2022 and August 2023.
