Sega and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio have unveiled a new installment in the Yakuza series, Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii. This spin-off takes place in the same universe as Yakuza 8: Infinite Wealth, with the protagonist being none other than Goro Majima, the enigmatic Yakuza with an eye patch. Washed ashore on the Hawaiian islands, Majima finds himself entangled with pirates using the islands as a base for criminal activities. Forced to fight against these marauders, he eventually becomes the captain of his own pirate ship.
Ryosuke Horii, the series’ producer, assures fans that while the storyline may seem unusual at first, it will gradually intensify like previous Yakuza games. Scheduled for release on February 28, 2025, Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii will be available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
