Korean Power Unites: Samsung SmartThings Integration with Hyundai and Kia Vehicles

The South Korean tech giant Samsung is flexing its muscle by collaborating with the automotive brands Hyundai and Kia (currently under the same umbrella) to integrate its SmartThings smart home system into the next generation infotainment systems of Hyundai/Kia vehicles.

Examples of this integration include:

The SmartThings Find platform, which is designed to locate Samsung devices, will now be incorporated into Hyundai/Kia cars to help locate a missing vehicle using Bluetooth LE technology from a large number of Galaxy devices, particularly in South Korea.

Galaxy smartphones will be able to control the air conditioning and check the remaining driving range of EVs through the Quick Panel on the smartphone.

Hyundai/Kia cars will be able to control SmartThings devices in the home, such as turning on or off the air conditioner or air purifier, from the car while driving back home.

Hyundai has confirmed that the new infotainment system will debut in 2026.

TLDR: Samsung partners with Hyundai and Kia to integrate SmartThings smart home system into Hyundai/Kia vehicles, allowing for advanced control and connectivity between the car and home devices. Hyundai announces new infotainment system to launch in 2026.
