Microsoft Unveils Call of Duty for Cloud-Based Xbox Gaming, Black Ops Edition Available on Day 1

On October 25, 2024, Microsoft announced the arrival of the Call of Duty trilogy – Black Ops 6, Modern Warfare III, and Warzone, to be accessible through Xbox Cloud Gaming. This marks the debut of Black Ops 6 for purchase.

This announcement signifies the ability to play the latest full version of Call of Duty on various devices such as smartphones, iPads, Chromebooks, Fire TVs, and smart TVs for the first time. It aligns with Microsoft’s vision to enable gaming across all screens, leveraging the popular Call of Duty franchise acquired through the Activision Blizzard acquisition to attract players to their platform (and subscribe to Game Pass Ultimate).

Prior to this, Microsoft had revealed that Black Ops 6 would join Game Pass from day one, followed by Modern Warfare III, but required traditional installation on devices and was limited to Xbox and PC only.
