The Click-to-Cancel rule mandates that sellers provide straightforward information to customers before purchase and must have a quick and easy cancellation method equal to the sign-up process.

If signed up online, cancellation must be possible online.
If signed up offline, cancellation must be done via phone or online, with no phone charges and within regular business hours.

Those who violate the FTC rules will face fines at the discretion of the FTC in the future.
