TSMC has reported its quarterly results for Q3 2024, following last week’s monthly sales figures. The total revenue reached 759.692 billion Taiwanese dollars, a 39.0% increase compared to the same quarter in the previous year. The net profit also saw a significant growth, totaling 325.258 billion Taiwanese dollars, up by 54.2%.
Breaking down the revenue by chip manufacturing technology:
– 3 nanometers accounted for 20% of the revenue.
– 5 nanometers contributed 32% of the revenue.
– 7 nanometers made up 17% of the revenue.
This means that revenue from advanced technologies (7 nanometers and above) collectively made up 69% of the total revenue, compared to 67% in the previous quarter.
When categorized by platform usage, revenue from HPC dominated with 51%, followed by smartphones at 34%.
