Google Launches Sale of Reconditioned Pixel on Own Website, Pricing 40% Lower Than New Models

Other camps may have been doing it for a while, but Google has just announced the Certified Refurbished Phone program for Pixel brand mobile phones for the first time. Refurbished devices will be sold through the Google Store website at a price that is 40% cheaper than new devices.

Google states that the phones being brought back to market have been certified for quality standards by Google itself. If parts need to be replaced, only genuine parts will be used. They will be updated to the latest software version, packaged in a new box, and even come with a charger included. These hardware components will come with a 1-year warranty and post-sales services just like purchasing a new Pixel model in every way.

Examples on Google’s website include refurbished Pixel phones such as Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, and Pixel 7 Pro. There are no Pixel 8 or Pixel 7a models for the year 2023 as of yet. As for the selling prices, the lowest is for Pixel 6a at $249, reduced by half from its launch price of $499, while the Pixel 7 Pro is sold at $629 compared to the full price of $899 at launch.

The Certified Refurbished Pixel program is currently only available in the United States.
