The Ministry of Digital Transformation in Ukraine has launched the uResidency program, allowing foreigners to apply for e-residency to establish online businesses in Ukraine, a concept similar to Estonia’s e-residency program. This initiative is supported by the government of Estonia and the EU.
The uResidency program is open to citizens from four countries outside Ukraine: Slovenia, India, Pakistan, and Thailand. Thai nationals can apply for e-residency in Ukraine to register their businesses and provide services internationally. This registration grants their business the status of a company in Europe, making it easier to conduct business with European clients and enjoy a low tax rate of only 5% on income up to 180,000 euros, suitable for SMEs with a digital-oriented service model.
The application process can be completed mostly online, with the only offline requirement being to verify one’s identity at the Ukrainian Embassy in Thailand (located at All Seasons Place on Wireless Road). For further details, visit the uResidency website.
TLDR: Ukraine’s Ministry of Digital Transformation launched the uResidency program, allowing foreigners to establish online businesses in Ukraine, with Thai nationals being able to apply for e-residency and benefit from a low tax rate for European business operations.
