Enhanced Windows 11 x86 Emulator Supports Advanced AVX Instruction Set, Enabling Better Compatibility for Legacy Apps to Run on Arm Devices

Microsoft has released Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 27744 Canary Channel with an intriguing new feature called Prism emulator for running legacy x86 apps on Arm CPU architecture. It supports additional instruction set extensions of x86 CPUs such as AVX, AVX2, BMI, FMA, F16C. This feature enables some x86 apps or games that utilize these instruction sets to run on Arm. Previously, Microsoft quietly enabled this feature for Adobe Premiere Pro 25, limited to a few select apps only. However, moving forward, it will be available for all x64 apps running on Arm (32-bit apps are still not supported).

TLDR: Microsoft introduces Prism emulator in Windows 11 Build 27744 to run x86 apps on Arm with support for additional instruction sets.
