Enhancing Cross-Platform Capability with Matter 1.4: Implementing Multi-Admin System to Support Solar-Powered Devices

CSA recently announced the latest standards for smart home devices, Matter 1.4. This update includes support for a wide range of energy management systems, such as solar panels, batteries, heat pumps, water heaters, and other detailed devices. Additionally, wall-mounted light switch panels and fans are now categorized separately, distinguishing them from previous versions that viewed these devices as mere light switches.

A key feature of Matter 1.4 is the Multi-Admin system, allowing users to control devices from more than one platform without the need for reconfiguration. For instance, adding a device in Apple HomeKit will seamlessly incorporate it into Google Home as well.

Furthermore, future updates in Matter 1.4 will focus on improving router support for better connectivity control and enhancing energy-efficient battery management for more effective energy utilization.

However, manufacturers and smart home platforms may require additional time before fully supporting Matter 1.4.
