Key takeaways for general users are that Epic’s latest announcement includes their ongoing battle against Apple and Google, particularly surrounding the complex installation process of the Epic Games Store on mobile devices. It involves 15 steps for iOS and 12 steps for Android. Furthermore, there’s a focus on challenging Apple’s restrictions to make the Epic Games Store available only in Europe, as well as discussions regarding the Core Technology Fee (CTF) that game developers must pay to Apple as a platform usage fee. In response, Epic Games has declared their commitment to covering the CTF for developers bringing their games to the Epic Games Store.

TLDR: Epic Games is expanding its mobile game offerings on the Epic Games Store, including new titles and a Free Game program. They are also addressing challenges with installation processes on mobile devices and taking a stand against Apple and Google’s restrictions.
