Baldur’s Gate 3 announces the upcoming major patch, dubbed “Patch 8,” as promised. This patch brings forth numerous important additions.
Support for Cross-Play across PC, Xbox, and PlayStation platforms is finally here, with the added capability of playing with mods, provided they are compatible across all platforms.
Xbox Series S now supports Split-Screen Co-Op gameplay, addressing a long-standing issue that caused the Xbox version of Baldur’s Gate 3 to lag behind other platforms.
A Photo Mode feature has been implemented, along with the introduction of 12 new subclasses.
Currently, Patch 8 is undergoing stress test evaluations, but there was an accidental early release on PS5. The current recommendation is to revert back to Patch 7 until Patch 8 is officially ready for launch.
Following Patch 8, Baldur’s Gate will continue to receive incremental updates, but the development team at Larian Studio will be shifting focus towards a new game.
