Bloomberg reports closely that Salesforce is planning to lay off more than 1,000 employees (specific department unclear) out of a total of 73,000 employees without specifying clear reasons.
Previously, Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff revealed that the company is preparing to hire an additional 2,000 sales positions to oversee the sales of the company’s AI products specifically, and will not be hiring additional programmers as utilizing AI helps increase work efficiency.
The trend of gradually laying off employees has become a new norm for tech companies today. After a large-scale employee layoff in 2023, there have been continuous small rounds of layoffs. The latest cases include Meta announcing a 5% layoff and Google ceasing to hire high-level executives.
