In addition to announcing the GPT4.5 model and cancelling the o3 release, Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, has outlined the plan for the deep research information retrieval service for the ChatGPT.
A user named seconds_0 mentioned that Deep Research is an invaluable tool and is willing to pay $1,000 per month. Currently, Deep Research is limited to 100 queries per day for Pro customers. Altman quoted this post and stated that they are preparing to open up Deep Research for other customer tiers as well. Plus customers will have access to 10 queries per month, while free users will have 2 queries per month. These numbers are set to increase in the future.
Although the initial usage allowance from OpenAI may seem minimal, they are hopeful that users will be impressed with the service and be willing to pay for additional usage.
Altman also mentioned plans to offer heavy Deep Research users the option to pay for additional processing power, indicating a long-term strategy.
