Capcom has unveiled a new trailer for Onimusha: Way of the Sword, the latest installment in the Onimusha series (considered the 5th installment). The protagonist of this chapter is revealed to be Miyamoto Musashi, a legendary samurai in history.
The trailer doesn’t reveal much about the storyline, simply showcasing Miyamoto Musashi battling against the demonic Genma. It’s worth noting that Musashi’s face in the game is modeled after Toshiro Mifune, a renowned actor in samurai films from the past, such as Seven Samurai, who passed away nearly 30 years ago. This serves as a tribute to Mifune, an icon in the samurai film genre.
Additionally, Capcom has announced the release date for Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny, the remastered edition, on May 23, 2025.
