Potential Legal Action Against Google if they Refuse to Restore Gulf of America to its Original Name

The President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, clapped back at Google after Maps changed the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America for users in the United States. She hinted that the Mexican government may sue Google if the company does not revert the name change. Mexico holds direct territorial and jurisdictional power over both the continent and the entire Gulf of Mexico. She even suggested humorously renaming the gulf to ‘Mexican America.’

Google responded by stating that they were simply following official geographic guidelines given by President Donald Trump.
