Acer’s CEO Reveals 10% Increase in Notebook Prices in America Due to Trump’s Tax Wall

Jason Chen, the CEO of Acer, in an interview with The Telegraph, issued a warning that laptop prices in the United States could increase by about 10%. This is a result of the tariffs imposed by Donald Trump on goods manufactured in China.

Trump’s tariffs affect products imported into the US after February 4, 2025. Existing stock will not be impacted by these tariffs, but it may take some time before we see the prices of new batches increase due to the tariffs.

Acer is among the first PC manufacturers to openly acknowledge this issue, but other brands are likely to follow suit with price hikes. On Reddit, some users have reported requesting quotes for Dell products and receiving offers with a 20% increase in price.
