Expert in cybersecurity points out Twitter/X being targeted by DDoS attack due to inadequate server protection.

Security researcher Jérôme Meyer from Nokia Deepfield under Nokia’s umbrella unveiled details of Twitter/X being hit by a DDoS attack that brought it down this past Monday.

Meyer revealed that the servers of Twitter/X did not have adequate DDoS protection. The servers were directly exposed to the internet with no barriers to delay the attacks.

Former Head of the UK’s National Cyber Security Centre, Ciaran Martin, mentioned that Twitter/X did not utilize Cloudflare’s complete protection system. It’s like having four doors with superb locks on three, but leaving one unlocked.

Security experts remain unsure about Elon Musk’s claim that the attack originated from the “Ukraine region.” Meyer provided data indicating that the attack infrastructure was dispersed across the United States, Mexico, Spain, Italy, and Brazil, making it susceptible to being controlled from other sources.
