Baidu has introduced 2 new artificial intelligence models, including the ERNIE X1 Reasoning Model. This model stands out for its knowledge of the Chinese language, writing articles, guides, creating conversations, and complex calculations. The X1 model also supports deep data search, document-based Q&A, image understanding, image creation, code reading, web page reading, and mind map creation.
Additionally, Baidu has updated its main AI model, ERNIE 4.5, which supports mixed input data and has improved versatility. It is now smarter, able to understand current internet memes, and has been tested to outperform GPT-4.5 in various areas at only 1% of the cost.
Both the ERNIE X1 and ERNIE 4.5 models are now available for free use via the ERNIE Bot chatbot. Developers and organizational customers can also access them through the Baidu AI Cloud platform’s API. ERNIE 4.5 is priced at $0.55 per 1M tokens for input and $2.2 per 1M tokens for output, while ERNIE X1 is priced at $0.28 per 1M tokens for input and $1.1 per 1M tokens for output.
